MX 2.0 – What’s changed?

Find out more about the changes we have made to MX

Updated over a week ago

We’ve upgraded the interface across MX to bring key features together, and make your experience more convenient than ever.

For a quick run-through of all the changes, watch our MX How to Video.

So, what’s changed here:

  • You can now access your Distributions (if enabled) from your dashboard. What are these?

  • Organisation selection has moved to the bottom left.

  • The improved navigation menu is now available on the left panel.

How has the navigation menu changed:

  • Group creation and editing is now under ‘My team’.

  • Your User Profile settings, and lists of Administrators/Supervisors are now under ‘Settings > Account Information’.

  • Help and T&Cs are now under ‘Settings’.

What’s stayed the same:

  • You can still access all the same great functionality to send and receive business-critical data quickly and securely.

Download data

Here you can view and download the data that has been sent to you by contacts and colleagues.

Did you know that MX allows you to forward data? If (and only if) the original sender has enabled forwarding, you will see the ‘add recipients’ button letting you add additional ‘need-to-know' colleagues when you open the transaction.

Send data

To make sending data even easier, all your recipients and companies can now be added from a single search bar.

From this screen you can:

  • Choose data to send – upload any size or type of file, as well as folders.

  • Comments – let your recipient/s know what you are sending and why.

  • Add recipients – add your recipients and companies from the new search bar.

  • Send data options – set access and notification parameters, and enable forwarding.

  • Enable forwarding – MX allows transaction forwarding, switch this option on to allow forwarding, leave it off to prevent forwarding. You can save time by forwarding to another colleague without reuploading.

Transaction view

The layout has been reimagined – making it easier to tell who has received the data.

Each transaction now has a new activity log timeline, which brings together all forwarding and download activity for the transaction.

Distributions

MX Distribute is a mechanism for regular sharing of data with a changing audience within MX. Distribute works differently from a standard MX transaction, making it ideal for version control and long-term data sharing.

From this screen MX admins can:

  • Open the distribution and download the most recent version of the data.

  • Access and create new distributions and drafts.

  • Open – update recipients and supervisors, and add a new version.

  • View activity – track who has downloaded the file to monitor uptake of key releases.

Activity

The new MX may look different – but still provides a powerful way to track the movement of your data.

On this screen you can:

  • Track what data is accessed by whom, and when.

  • Monitor all data movement in and out of your company.

  • Search and filter from a detailed audit trail showing historical transactions.

  • Export a detailed (filtered if need be) transaction history as a CSV file.

Invite users

With a refreshed look, this screen allows you to invite users (internal and external) individually, or bulk import via CSV upload. Feel free to use the CSV template provided.

Pending users

From here you can resend or cancel invites that have not yet been accepted.

Internal users

From here you can edit or remove users, and promote or downgrade users between MX’s ‘user’, ‘supervisor’, and ‘admin’ roles.

External users

From here you can examine, edit or remove your external users.

Organisations and groups

Standard users can use this screen to create Personal Groups – saved groups of users relevant to you. Once created, you can Send data from the relevant screen to a personal group without individually selecting recipients.

Admin users can also edit organisations from this screen, which now has improved labelling and layout for ease of use.
